Complexity is not indecision
Films about social issues can hold a clear point of view while still allowing people to remain complicated. The work is not to flatten that complexity, but to shape it into a story an audience can enter.
Conversation after the credits
A documentary can succeed by changing what viewers are willing to discuss. The goal is not always consensus. Sometimes it is a more honest disagreement, or a question that follows someone home.
